Chris Knight - A Shift Operations Lieutenant
A native of Collinsville, VA. I have been involved in the Fire & EMS field for 16 years, with around 10 years as a career Firefighter/Paramedic. I am a graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with an Associates of Science: Paramedic. Over the years I have been part of several organizations either in a volunteer, part time or full-time career capacity. I began my Fire/EMS adventure as a volunteer in Henry County at Fieldale-Collinsville Volunteer Rescue Squad and Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department. I quickly developed a passion for Fire and EMS and decided I wanted to make it a career. I began my career as a firefighter for Roanoke County Fire and Rescue. After graduating from the Roanoke Valley Regional Recruit School, I served several areas of the Roanoke Valley including North County, Mount Pleasant, Fort Lewis, and Hollins stations. In late 2016 I accepted a position as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Franklin County Public Safety and was stationed in Glade Hill, Ferrum, and Rocky Mount. I have served as a Field Training Officer, a member of the Franklin County Special Operations Team & as a Paramedic on the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team.
My goal in my current Lieutenants position is to continue to share my passion with my team and to be the best we can be daily. I have been married to my wife Morgan for 9 years and we have two sons together, Boone (6) and Lennox (4). My hobbies include camping, hunting, fishing and Fire & EMS training. I look forward to growing as an officer with Franklin County Public Safety!
